Considering getting the little Bersa, but concerned that POI/POA may not correspond. Anyone know what types of ammo hit where relative to the line of sight? For accuracy shooting, I'm most interested in 50' range.

I have used Aguila and Armscor with good results.
My grand kids like to plink with all my 22's but the oldest likes the Bersa best.

My friend,,,
Just buy the gun and shoot it.

I've ran thousands of rounds through my Thunder 22,,,
And none of them displayed a whit of difference in accuracy.

I can usually hit a clay pigeon at 25 yards,,,
The brand of ammunition seems to be irrelevant.

The ammo that cycles the action in my Bersa .22 seems to hit POA. The ammo that doesn't cycle the gun, I can't remember the POA.

The thing is, the Bersa .22 is not a Ruger MK pistol so ammo group dispersion on target seems to negate too much worry about lack of elevation adjustment.

I have decent and consistent overall accuracy with CCI MiniMags and Wolf Match Target in just about every .22 I have used them in.

My wife used to have one. It shot pretty much anything to POA, but it was only 100% reliable with CCI mini-mags. With other ammo, usually Federal bulk pack or American Eagle, it would choke from time to time. Still not too bad for a plinker, but when she carried it, which she did for a year or so, it got loaded with CCI.

The only general caution I have is stay away from Remington Golden.
None of my 22 like them and the ftf rate in a box of 500 is unacceptable.

What I've noticed so far with mine is that its been reliable with ammo that is advertised as having 130 ftlbs or more. These tend to be the high velocity rounds.

CCI mini mags and Blazers have 135ftlbs and I cant remember any FTF... might of happened but I don't remember any. These are what I primarily shoot in general.

I've noticed that rounds in the 100ftlbs to 115ish range is when reliability fell off... sometimes to horrible level.

This isn't scientific info. After a few years of owning it, a light bulb went off in my head and I started researching going off memory of what I've used.

Biker doc, I recently bought some Aguila Super extra for the 1st time so that's good to know. They're advertised as having 140 ftlbs

What is your sight picture like for that? I assume you can actually see the clay pigeon on top of the sight?

If so, that's a reassuring report. I don't think I could do that at all with my fixed-sight auto. The clay pigeon would be completely hidden by the front sight, so you'd have to lay down two, one a little above the other, so you'd aim at the top one to hit the bottom one. That's the situation I *really* want to avoid getting into again.

(The old pistol I'm complaining about is a 10 mm EAA/Tanfoglio Witness DA/SA base-model steel frame...not that anyone cares. I guess the designer did not intend it for shooting at things as small as clay pigeons. ;) It's not the tack-driver some people claim they are, but other than the sight picture it's fun to shoot.)

Is that the SE HV in the orange and yellow box? You should have good luck with those. I have a Marlin Model 60 bought used and a little bubba-ed up that misbehaves a lot, and those work better in it than pretty much anything else. It would be fair to call them "Mexican Mini-mags." I ordered another three bricks last week.

Yes... that's the one.
The Aquila Super Extra have good numbers. From their respective websites:

BULLET WEIGHT
Grams Aguila = 2.59
Grain Aguila = 40 (CCI = 40)
VELOCITY
Muzzle ft/sec Aguila = 1,255 (CCI = 1235)
100 yds ft/sec Aguila = 1,036 (CCI = 998)
ENERGY
Muzzle ft/lb Aguila = 140 (CCI = 135)
100 yds ft/lb Aguila = 95 (CCI = 88)

My Bersa will not normally shoot a whole mag without malfunctioning so, it is difficult to determine the accuracy. I have tried about every .22 imaginable from Mini mags to old Montgomery Wards ( which did shoot with minimal stoppages) but it still malfunctions so back to the safe with it.

What does it do?

I'm no gun smith but from my experience, if its FTE with mini mags, make sure the slide is clean and lubed well.
If its FTF, make sure the mags are lubed. Mine were so dry they didn't operate smoothly. They were the 1st and only brand new mags Ive had that problem with.

Please no offers of trouble shooting-----The Bersa is at home in the drawer, As i indicated above i have tried about everything in the way of ammo and it has been to the Bersa doctor and just does not shoot well. I bought a Browning 1911-22 and it shoots just fine as do my vintage .22 pistols so leave a dead horse in the drawer.

I admit my Bersa didn't like feeding with full magazines for the first several hundred rounds. All three .22 LR mags I have had to be downloaded to no more than 9 rounds as the mags were too tight to feed with 10 rounds in it. Now, all is good with the mags.

I have 2 of them. I cut off one and a half loops off my barrel spring and now it shoots about anything.

I know you don't want any offers of troubleshooting, IB, but in case anyone else has similar issues and finds my experiences or ideas useful...

I've found my BT22 to only run reliably on CCI minimags with a fully loaded magazine, but will feed and function with any ammo I've tried if I download the magazine to 5. Once I get around to buying a few spare magazines I intend to experiment with the mag spring as that seems to be the root of the issue.

Those Brownings are nice aren't they?

Ttarp, The Browning Compact is a sweetheart in .22 but even neater is a .22 conversion kit on my Micro size Sig 938....just swap slides and mag and you have one neat compact .22 pistol.
Sorry for straying from the original Bersa problems.
