New to the concept of an AK47 Pistol, but really like what I have seen and would like to hear the opinions of those that have them and why they feel a particular make/model is good or bad.
    Thanks.

    They are for

making noise and not really good for much else. SO as long as it functions, it is in theory good.

I don't really see the point of an AK pistol, it's barrel is not quite long enough for hunting, you can't practically carry it, and unless you put a stock on it and register it as an SBR, you can't really use it as a defensive carbine. Even as a defensive weapon, 7.62 x 39mm can overpenetrate walls easily, so it's not a great choice. They're great for target shooting or I guess tactical use if you have a need for a high-power carbine, but not much else.

Ewbank Manufacturing makes sweet AK pistols.

Don't the shorter barrels decrease the velocity of the 7.62 round? Or does the weight of the round serve to give it sufficient momentum over the same situation with the 5.56 round and shorter-barreled AR's?

Mine was made by Ewbank Mfg of Winslow,AZ.
    Best one I've seen.
The quality of the other brands, that I've looked at, range from fair to junk and the price doesn't determine the quality.

The velocity loss with the 11 inch barrel is only a couple hundred FPS. Depending on the ammo it's 2100-2200+ FPS.

As a compareson, the Kel Tec PLR 55 gr bullet does 2,500-2,600fps and the AR pistols do about 2,300fps.

This pistol is totally reliable and more accurate than any AK rifle I've seen (except mine).

    Yes.

These guns are built with new receivers.

For instance, you could pick up a new AR receiver at a gun show and put together a (legal) .223 pistol.

Yes, the recievers for AR15/AK47 pistols are registered as pistol receivers.

It is just my understanding that you can't add a stock to it without registering it as a Short Barreled Rifle, or a vertical foregrip without registering it as Any Other Weapon.

    Neato, BTW!
