Just took delivery of a 21SF. Any recommendations out there for a good round for target shooting?
thanks, chuck

My G21 eats everything from cheap FMJ reloads to JHPs. Avoid plain lead bullets in Glock factory barrels, tho.

If money is not tight I would look at asym match offerings. Considering todays obscene ammo prices just over $30/box isn't that expensive.

My Glock is a .40cal, but it just loves ammo--any ammo. I shoot lead, too, but through a Storm Lake barrel. Many Glock owners use the factory polygonal barrel for lead bullets without issues (but they clean the bore a lot).

By all accounts, your Glock will feed and cycle just about anything you can buy or build. It just depends on your budget and accuracy needs, as some rounds will produce tighter groups than others, just as with any pistol.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll buy 3 or 4 different types and see what shoots best.

My G21 was only fed a steady diet of Zero 230gr FMJ, over 3.9gr Clays powder, never missed a beat even though it was a very light target load. Cycled great, one ragged hole groups at 30'

Mine has never jammed on a wide variety of ammo. Just make sure it's jacketed and its good to go. I don't trust guns that are finicky with ammo.

This. My usual practice load in my own 21 is 230gr WWB becuase its inexpensive and easy to find, but I've yet to find a FMJ or JHP it won't work with.
