Pulp Fiction for 4 reasons...
1) Shows a fine example of a ND
2) The audio isn't rolled back too much for gunshots (at least it wasn't when I saw it in the theatre)
3) Interesting non-connected story, put together rather well
4) It's the only one on the list I've seen
(I'm a Matrix, Alien, and Terminator fan myself

Well another one here under a rock...hadn't seen these either.
Write in vote for We Were Soldiers ( I actually own this one).
Others: Heat, Full Metal Jacket, Platoon, Silverado, Quigley Down Under,The Sacketts, Blackhawk Down, Dirty Dozen...and numerous old b/w cowboy, military movies of old.
Plot was, well bad to say the least, but I liked the 1911 handling in The Way of the Gun, and James Caan's revolver skills.
Write in vote for We Were Soldiers ( I actually own this one).
Others: Heat, Full Metal Jacket, Platoon, Silverado, Quigley Down Under,The Sacketts, Blackhawk Down, Dirty Dozen...and numerous old b/w cowboy, military movies of old.

Hm - wondering a little about the selection here. Besides "Pulp Fiction" did I never hear of anyone of them.

I'd have to go with Reservoir Dogs. Pulp Fiction comes a close 2nd.
I think Reservoir Dogs is the best on the list. It uses the most basic and simple setting yet is able to portray an intricate and intriguing plot. It's really fast paced and has excellent dialogue. Well written with an excellent cast to back it up.
Your list of movies does follow a theme of good drama with a little gunplay thrown in. Thus, it could have had Heat on the list, but I think most people would have been significantly biased towards Heat over the Tarentino films and the others since it is well known for the bank shootout scene; and this being a forum for firearms enthusiasts, many of the members have seen Heat.
Casino, Snatch, and Traffic are also good films. I think Traffic was one of the top 100 movies of all time (I have the Criterion DVD). Casino ranks up there with Goodfellas, in my book. Snatch is more of a comedy than a drama. Probably should have been excluded from the list. Romeo Must Die was actually pretty good, too, but it doesn't hold a candle to the Tarentino films, Traffic, or Casino.
Personally, I didn't like Corruptor. It had way too much drama and not enough good action as in Chow Yun Fat's Hong Kong movies.
Haven't seen Narc or Carlito's Way.
So yeah, assuming I didn't have it on DVD already, I'd take Reservior Dogs DVD over the others.

If those were my only choices, I'd take Carlito's Way. I haven't seen Narc yet, and I already own the other movies.

Of those that I've seen I'd have to say the Corruptor, but my #1 choice would be "Way of the Gun" and my number 2 if you're in a 15 shot 1911 mood would be "Last Man Standing".

I chose Narc only because Way of the Gun, Heat, and Black Hawk Down are absent.
IMO, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, and Snatch are the least compatable with your parameters. I enjoyed them all but they do not cut it for action, adventure, and realism.

I already have most of the well known great gun movies such as Heat, Way of the Gun, Blackhawk Down, etc.... That is why they weren't included on the list.
I am looking for some more good gun movies, and this list are the ones that caught my eye at the DVD store.

Like a couple other posters, I'd add "Ronin" as an excellent choice, but, IMHO, "Pulp Fiction" has all the requisite Movie elements in perfect balance:
Plot twists, multiple "arcs", one-of-a-kind characters, comedy-drama in balance and a lot of blood, guts, gunplay & one great sword scene!
Plus, Samuel Jackson is my current favorite actor. A sequal would be nice!

Extreme Prejudice is a good one for gunplay involving most every type of firearm. The hero's operation of a Combat Commander is the focus of a couple of wonderful shots.

I voted for Casino, though it's a tough choice against Reservior Dogs and Pulp Fiction.
If Last Man Standing had been on the list, it would have gotten my vote. It's a charming little film where Bruce Willis kills everyone in Texas and most of Northern Mexico with a pair of 1911's.
