Beto's gun rant

This is the time to Buy an AR-15?

What about the vast numbers bought by people in '08-'09 by people who never actually Wanted an AR, and were unable to sell them at the prices they paid for the guns?

The time to sell your unwanted AR could be just after another mass tragedy (God forbid), if between now and the 2020 election.

Bobby O'Rourke likes the drink. May have been a case of in vino veritas with the DNC trying to put the cat back in the bag ipso post facto.

But it's great for gun sales. NSSF should bung him a few grand just to keep his charade going a few more months.

Because Swalwell lacks the "means, motive, and opportunity" that it takes for a threat to be credible. Swalwell doesn't control any nukes, so his threat was hot air.
Oh he absolutely has the motive. He's a sociopath.

I GUARANTEE you he's the bigger threat. Throw in conspiracy to deprive millions of people of their constitutional rights.

The enthusiastic crowd that hailed Roberto Francisco O’Dork with their applause are all liberals. Did anyone expect them to boo?

And why in the hell are we giving ANY credence to ANY poll? Have we not figured out that polls today are basically meaningless?

He's dead in the polls and knows it, this is just an attempt to make himself relevant and it's really unlikely to work.

Beto is a guy with no chance at winning, many people don't even know who he is outside of Texas. His real usefulness is helping to shift overton's window further leftward. Now confiscation of sporting weapons is within the realm of being allowable in public discussion. That will be his biggest contribution to American politics.

I tried. I am not good at photoshoppe. I can't get it to look right...

R O'Rourke driving the Dukakis tank:neener: ...and then proudly proclaim, ''I M a 2A friend.'' Just like those feigning faith, I always said, ask a few ?...

-What is the #1 safety rule of firearms handling, of which if obeyed, stops any & all accidental shootings?

OK , your answers from the entire lot of them are below, here, following this last line, NOW....

;)

Show of hands.
Who here thinks jammer are a chocolate cake for breakfast?

Eleven said yes, to your one "no".

Looks like we are banning chocolate cake in only sanctuary cities now.

After all, the poll said you have an eating disorder and can't be trusted with your own health...

Not one politician is PRO-GUN, granted some are less anti-gun than others but ALL of them are anti in some manner.
They reflect the voters. Our problem is not with the politicians, but with the general public.

Our priority #1 should be to get the general public on our side. But how do we do that when there are mass shootings every so often?

It is in our self-interest to prevent mass shootings. (Just as it is in the interest of the antigunners for there to be mass shootings.) How do we prevent mass shootings? By being very careful to whom we sell guns, for one thing. If the guy looks like a scuzzball, don't sell to him! (Doesn't matter if he formally passes a background check. Our own standards should be more strict.)

ETA: In my experience, gun shows are absolutely full of "scuzzballs." It doesn't take a genius, or someone with ESP, to pick them out.

I think if the Democrats can actually convince the Congress and the President to pass gun confiscation laws in the US, I suspect all hell will break out across the country. If they thought the "black lives matter" group was vocal and promoting violence, they haven't seen anything yet. It would get real ugly in many areas of the US and be a very volatile situation. I really don't like to think about it. A lot of people would likely die un-necessarily. But that is not how it's done so the campaign posturing is a bunch of BS.

I think he believes himself to be another Bobby Kennedy.

All firearms originated to kill and evolved to kill more efficiently, extending the Dem’s argument would ban all firearms.
Beto reeks of soft and sissy, makes me sick to look at him - he is product of our soft society - no wonder the cultures of the Middle East view us with such distain. I suspect that the reduced generational testosterone commercials are correct,

They wouldn't be proposing this unless they thought they would score points with the public. Politicians don't do anything without running it past their internal polls and focus groups. If you have half the country demanding gun confiscation, and the other half adamantly opposing it, that doesn't bode well for national unity. I hope the patriots on both sides can step back from the brink.

I don’t see how anyone puts credibility into any poll after they said Hillary was going to win in a landslide...
Actually, the pollsters were not that far off in 2016. They were quite close in predicting the national popular vote. Where they went wrong was in not sampling Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania enough, especially in the final days. Remember that the election was decided by about 70,000 votes in those three states.

They'll find at least a few willing to "just follow orders". And when they do, it'll get real ugly, real fast, "burning Kansas" ugly.
Unfortunately I doubt it. Average person more caring of their TV than what is happening to their neighbors.

This childish ploy by "Beto" points out the dangers of the Red Flag laws being mis-used. Vindictive individuals, such as scorned girl friends, ex-wives or feuding neighbors, and yes, even publicity stunts by desperate presidential candidates will abuse such laws unless severe penalties are provided for such mis-use.

Texas Rep. Briscoe Cain and Beto O'Rourke spar on Twitter

HOUSTON (FOX 26) - A moment during the Houston Democratic Debate has turned to a war of words on Twitter after Beto O'Rourke says a Texas state lawmaker 'threatened' him, after his pledge to confiscate certain weapons.

O'Rourke's 'Hell yes, we're going to take your AR-15' pledge was in response to several mass-shootings in Texas over the last few years.

But when the O'Rourke campaign followed with a tweet repeating the comment, Deer Park Republican Briscoe Cain responded with his own comment:

"My AR is ready for you Robert Francis", using O'Rourke's given name.

O'Rourke followed-up:

"This is a death threat, Representative. Clearly, you shouldn't own an AR-15, and neither should anyone else."

Cain insists he didn't threaten anyone, "Beto absolutely knows that's not true, at all."

Instead, he says he was drawing from the state's unofficial motto, from the Texas Revolution, "Come and Take It".

"The real concern should be with candidates for President discussing the violation of constitutional rights," says Cain, "Had he said 'I'm going to silence you, and take away your free speech', we'd all be upset. He's doing the same thing there."

FOX 26 Senior legal analyst Chris Tritico thinks the standoff appears more political theater, than anything else.

While the O'Rourke campaign says it filed a complaint about Cain's comments, with the FBI, Cain says he hasn't heard from the feds and the agency doesn't confirm or deny any inquiries.

In a statement, the FBI says such allegations are reviewed and appropriate action is taken, when appropriate.

"I am going to kill you' is a direct threat and you have to be in a position to do it," says Tritico, "When you say it over the Twittersphere, and you're not around each other and you don't have the ability to carry it out, it's really not a death threat."

Either way, the episode to generating a lot of attention that may not be all bad for either side.

The O'Rourke campaign is now selling t-shirts emblazoned with his pledge to confiscate weapons.

The Texas Republican Party has introduced its own t-shirts, that read: "Beto, Come and Take It".

So which three states are going to be the bellwether to show the way THIS time? I have a deep distrust of anyone that has an agenda as to the results of said poll.
