I've attached and hidden a bunch of tracking devices to some of my more expensive hardware. Cheap ones start at around $25, high end ones retail for $200 or so. Most of them are sold as standalone bicycle trackers, they're pretty small in size and self-contained with no need for external battery. You can easily fit one inside most trail cameras.
Or your bicycle, motorcycle, car, tent, trailer anything you may leave unattended outdoors for a while.
Stupid should hurt........
Great idea. Thx
Who dat! Here's the two thieves. I love a happy ending.
We had a trespasser sometime last winter who stole just the memory card out of one of our cameras (must have known he was on it). At least he was honest enough not to take the whole camera.
A shame too, there should have been some good pics on that card.
Had one of my cameras stolen on a separate property we own. I mounted another way up in another tree, because thieves always return.
And was pleasantly surprised it was Dad that made the kids put it back. Here the kid is wiping his finger prints off of it.
They didn’t return the memory card because they didn’t want me to have their picture....
I also have a cellular one too, as above stealing one doesn’t do you much good. You photo was already sent and the one I have has a “report stolen” section in the app.
mind detailing which devices and services you've used, as well as your results?
Tile is the cheapest and simplest but bluetooth only, Tail It+ uses GPS + cellular network and works great. I've also tried Sherlock briefly but it's a bit more expensive and designed specifically for bike handlebar installation. Services around here are pretty cheap, a speed-restricted 4G LTE subscription with unlimited data costs around €4 a month per sim card.
These guys are stealing my corn right now.
So how come 4 or 5 aren't already on the smoker?
Got a link to find such a creature ?
Sure. For example: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=gps+tracker
There are way too many to list, in addition to ones mentioned in my earlier post.
Separate names with a comma.
