My offer is still open. I would be willing to compile the chart if someone is willing to provide the photos and specs.
For my part, I would be willing to work with ONE person providing the input to me. I don't want to deal with all the correspondence that would be necessary from a number of providers.
Just a warning, many specs. on manufacturers web sites and in their catalogs are not accurate and may not be acquired the same way by all manufacturers. Also some manufacturers and/or distributors weren't very inclined to answer questions from me so I could make the specs in the "pocket gun" chart compare "apples-to-apples".
The most common problem is weight. Most manufacturers don't say if the weight they give is with or without a magazine. After asking them, most were without a magazine. Then I had to get the weights of their standard magazines from them.
I then had to compute the average weight of a round of that caliber to determine the "fully loaded" weight.
I don't have a number for the average weights of .357SIG, .45GAP, we will probably need that info.
I think you'll find that there are going be a lot of guns in the "big pocket gun" category. You may want to keep the main parameters pretty tight or you'll end up with a huge book rather than a chart.
I am not happy that the present "pocket gun" chart had to go to two pages because of the number of guns. It makes it much harder to compare sizes when you must flip from page to page.
Just the Taurus Millennium series, Springfield XD series, and S&W M&P series alone will probably be close to 100 guns. They all come in many different finishes, calibers, barrel lengths, magazine sizes, sights, etc. And when you get into guns like SIGs you have many different action options also. Each combination of options in these guns will have a unique MSRP that will change from time to time.
For many of the guns you will have to give more than one capacity, overall height, and fully loaded weight figure. As an example, I'm thinking of the XD .45 Compact that comes with a 10 round and a 13 round magazine.
I'm not trying to discourage you. I just want you to be forewarned of the amount of effort it will most likely take. I'm willing to make the commitment if you are!
