bipod legs extended past muzzle?

hello,

I have a bipod which when collapsed the legs extend past the YHM flash supressor I have on it. If I fire is this going to damage the bipod legs? This is on a 16" barreled ar15 in 5.56. The bipod was given to me, i'm assuming its some type of harris or harris knockoff by the looks.

Not unless the legs are within .5" to 1" of the brake could I see any damage from the gas blast.

I doubt it. You will get some nice powder residue deposits on it though.

Flash suppressor, no (unless of course it is in the flight path )...muzzle brake, yes. As owen stated, you'll likely see some powder deposits, but that won't effect function.
