Wow... I got my SS .45 4.6" BHG Vaquero about that time - then a .357M version - then I made a .44 Magnum BHG from a 4.6" SBH - and, finally, added a 4.6" SS BHG in .32 H&RM. All 4.6" SS BHG with black micarta grips and the best part of the Ruger Bisley added - the hammer! That 5.5" SS Bisley was modified, for a trade, to rounded grip corners - then traded even up for another S&W 625MG in .45 Colt. The heaviest of the BHG left first - the .357 Magnum. All of those Rugers are gone now, the last leaving here over a year ago.

I found that the lighter, shorter barrel, and DA capable 625MG in .45 Colt was easier to shoot more accurately than the 5.5" Ruger Bisley - or 5.5" Redhawk. I got better groups at 25yd with the S&W - and, with the Ahrends square conversion FG grips, recoil control at the upper SAAMI-spec's levels was just as good as the Bisley - and certainly more comfortable. I did like the Bisley better than the standard Blackhawk grip - and loved that Bisley hammer, even putting the partially blued variant in my SS .32 BHG SSM.

Well Stainz, I was right there with you until you said the Ruger is gone:eek:.

Bisley Vaquero was my first revolver and still my favorite. (The Mountain Gun is nice too).
