Well - here she is. I picked her up last weekend looking like this......

Obviously - I couldn't stand it. So I quickly did a strip job and threw a quick stain on it. Now at least its not an eyesore.

I'm new to the AK platform - So I have some learning to do. Figured this little number would do the trick. I traded it for a shotgun that I had next to nothing into ($100.00), and it came with 180 rounds of ammo. Figure that was deal I could not pass up.

Nice! All you need now is a pile of mags and a case of ammo.

AKs just look right with wood grain furniture.

Man, I can't believe you Bubbafied a genuine Crapastani stock set. Those were only intended as parade weapons for elite urban militias and tactical retail center protection teams and they are considered very rare. The collector value just went right down the drain.

halfacop,

Nice find, and I like what you did with the furniture. I just joined the AK club myself, so welcome to the club!

That blonde furniture with that funky pistol grip is definately Hungarian. That may be a pre-ban SA-85M made by FEG in Hungary. If so, it's one of the best AKM style variants ever brought into the country.

Good luck on that being your last! They are just too much fun! Before you know it you'll have a folder, and then a milled! They just keep breeding!

Nice Buy!

Nice Score.... Looks a lot better now....

I don't think you can ever have enough AK, Ammo or Mags for said AKs...

ARs either...

Man, this stuff is addicting...

What a terrible trade on your part! I feel so badly for you.

Tell you what, I'll send you a $100 shotgun and you can send that to me.

:)

No, you did real, real good. Sickening good.

I think you will enjoy the rifle for what it is, so long as you don't try to make it something it ain't. By that I mean the sights are "good enough" but not excellent, accuracy isn't stellar, but I'll bet you wouldn't poke your head up for very long at 300 meters if someone were shooting one of these at you.

You can develop great riflery skills with one of these rifles, same as you can any other.

Have fun.

that is an amazing deal! I wish I could find myself a deal like that here. I want one sooooo bad.

Thanks guys - Yeah - I was pretty happy with the deal for sure.

A great rifle to compliment my AR and the rest of the family.

I have alot to learn of the AK platform - but it will be fun doing so. Expect me to pop in here with questions regarding this platform.

Halfacop, did you use polyurethane over the stain?

No - I have not completely finished it yet. I am thinking about going over it with a few coats of tungoil now.

I have a tear in my eye right now after looking at the pic's of the
stock.
She was SWEET when you got her??

MRI

You can't be serious. Plus - the paint looked alot better in the pics than FTF. Trust me, this thing was a mess. Plus, I am not even sure he took the wood off when he painted it. There was "over paint" on the metal parts. The paint was chipping etc etc.

You will be selling AR's soon

As fun as this rifle has been to shoot so far - I will never sell Ole' Blacky!
