I was working, all I bought this week was gas for the car so regale us all with your amazing firearms related finds! If a sale is still on, post it up to share, pictures always appreciated!
My wife wanted to go to the peddlers mall, which is a flea market. I bought a 3-pack of Winchester socks. I'll wear them to the range and see what happens.
I bought a vortex 3x9x50mm crossfire straight wall bdc scope and rings from optics planet. On sale + 11% off. It's going on my slug gun.
I don’t normally test the (shopping) waters on that day but I may still make a trek to search for .22WMR.
Today, I purchased 1# of IMR 3031, 1# of Varget and a 100 ct bag of 45-70 (405 grn) lead projectiles at my local LGS - I was doing really well until I asked for large rifle primers - the entire counter crew then broke out in laughter!
I saw plenty of tempting guns and gun parts online, but I have something approximating a dozen projects and I haven't completed one of them this whole year. So... I didn't spend any money on guns or parts. In general, they were tempting, but not really that great. The most tempting was Pyramyd Air's annual sale. I thought to myself, "Self, you should shoot and build more than you have been, and you should spend the time that you usually spend shopping to do that." Self thought back, "You know, you have pretty good ideas sometimes!" I haven't spent all that much time shopping for a few months.
Bought a Desantis holster for my new XDM 10mm. Not on sale. Found no deals on anything I really needed.
THR is a firearms forum. If your post disappeared it is because it had nothing to do with firearms. Let's stay focused and stick to firearms, and their associated accessories.
Here is my story and I'm sticking to it. Never again will I venture out on a Black Friday, then too, I said that the last time. Ron
Picked up a Ruger American Predator in 6.5 creedmoor and a Leupold 3-9x40 to top it off for my high school age stepson. First year he has asked for something practical for Christmas in a long time, so I obliged. Of course, when he asked, I told him to keep dreaming, he can buy himself a rifle when he gets a real job - can’t just give in easily! Bought it in that caliber because I already have a glut of components for it on the reloading bench, so he won’t be short on ammo starting out.
Hopefully you’ll teach him to load as my father did back in my high school years. Having that personal stake in the process has kept me connected to shooting as much as any other reason. Big thumbs up on the RAP as well, bought my daughter the same rifle a few years ago.
Jeep parts, a new garbage disposal, stuff for the kids. It’s that kind of season for me. Stuff is breaking like crazy. Wanted to buy a Axis for the kids but too many other things took precedence. Generally Black Friday deals happen again at tax time or thereabouts so maybe then.
Yes, I plan on teaching him to reload. I’ll have quite a few “starter” rounds for him made up Christmas morning, and when he runs out, it will be time to teach him. Out of all 4 kids, my 7 year old daughter has actually shown the most interest, always wanting to help out at the reloading bench. She gets small tasks such as picking brass out of the tumbler, clearing flash holes with a paper clip, loading the tray for inspection, etc. Of course, I double check everything she does, but it’s a good start.
I don't know where you are, but there is plenty of 22wmr around here. CCI, Armscor, and Win. If you lived close enough to meet I'd pick some up for you or swap out something.
