It's a Comp-Tac MTAC IWB holster offered in black leather now.

Just bought one and its looks very sexy. Im a little bit concerned about the black dyed leather. I do not want it to bleed. Its my first black leather IWB holster.

Is there any downside to have a black dyed leather holser??
When the inside of the holster wears from drawing weapon over time, will it fade to a whitish color or be smudged black?

I talked to a nice lady at CompTac and she swore they will not bleed and also said that they never had a complaint about that. I believe her but i need others expieriences with black leather in hot climates.

I live in Phoenix, AZ where it gets hot as hell here
(sweatin).

I do have their Gen 1 leather backing which is all brown (chestnut)and currently still use it for my G23. No problems even after 2 long hot Phoenix Summers. Love it and would never think about using another holster because there is no need to to.

If the leather is drum dyed by the tannery the color will be struck through and it will be color fast and not bleed. This is what most production manufacturers use. Custom makers may dye thier own and here is where you may have a problem with IWB as you can get bleed even from a good well sealed dyed holster.

The more i wear it the more i love it. It's high quality and im sure it wont bleed. I get paranoid sometimes.:uhoh: :)
