I went to the range today and among other things I fired off 10 rounds that I loaded with black powder.

I loaded them up to .400" below the mouth of the case (no idea what that volume is) then I had a card punched from a cardboard cereal box, a lubed felt wad and a 200 grain LSWC bullet. I figure I had about 1/16" compression of the powder.

They felt just as stout as the ones I had loaded with Titegroup.

I had my friend shoot some video of me shooting some of the black powder rounds.

Good video. I've loaded up a bunch of BP cartridges for my 1858 and ROA conversions, but haven't had time to get to the range yet. Hopefully this week ...

Love the smoke from the black powder.
