Black Powder Loads for 30-30

For sure, no reason to do it. I was young and dumb and bored, and would not do it again. However, I still have all my fingers and eyesight.

Been there done that, without ever seeing any real advantage. "Risky Bizz-ness" for sure, and mad science. Duplex loads must be compressed, if the powders actually mix, that could not be good. Also small "kicker" charges of Unique under the main charge of black. Again, no real advantage.
Well alrighty then, thanx for the earlier experiment, I was figguring out how many grains of 3031 I was going to try in percentage of the main charge like the duplexers do when I read your post. I know thst in the 40- 45s those shooters do get some benefits, but it sure doesn't sound like the small bores get any. Bummer.

I used alox/beeswax, Javalina, in my 45-70 but used a duplex load of five grains of smokeless on the primer and a case full of black. Three patch cleanup.

In my own reading, and this is for .45 cal black powder cartridges, where the pressures must be minimized a guy named Dick Trenk, a Pedersoli representative mentions his experience with Alliant reloader 7, IMR 3031, or IMR 4759.
He indicates that he personally has used up to 5% of the total charge weight, remembering that, remove the same percent of weight from the original Black powder charge and replace it with the same amount of smokeless. And of course leave no room between the charge and the base of the bullet, some comperssion being the best course. I personally dont have any pressure measuring equipment and couldnt possibly know what internal psi is being developed in the far smaller 30 WCF case, so it seems to me, that full case of black powder, with, in my comfort level, not exceding a 5% total weight of smokeless should be a safe starter in a 40,000 psi rated rifle.
Your mileage may vary. I would be cautious with any of this.
