Direct quotes from Bloomberg last night in response to the man pushed to his death in a NYC subway last night:

"It is such a rare occurrence that no matter how tragic it is, it shouldn't change our lifestyle."

"I don't know that there is a ways to prevent," he said. "There's always going to be somebody, a deranged person. You can say it's only two out of the 3 or 4 million people that ride the subway every day, but two is two too many. Unfortunately, there are people who are mentally deranged."

And the thing is... it is preventable. All you have to do is keep people away from the tracks until it stops.

Heck, every amusement park has already figured out that out.

There are 8 million citizens daily exposed to these unregulated assault trains.
Assault trains should be limited to no more than three cars, and the turnstile loopholes should be eliminated.
It's for the children.

Imagine Bloomberg saying this about mass shootings:

"It is such a rare occurrence that no matter how tragic it is, it shouldn't change our lifestyle."

"I don't know that there is a ways to prevent," he said. "There's always going to be somebody, a deranged person. You can say it's only two out of the 3 or 4 million people that use guns every day, but two is two too many. Unfortunately, there are people who are mentally deranged."

Nah, that's COMPLETELY different. Right?

How can we use his own words to our advantage?

the more this man speaks, the more i question his mental cognition .....im surprised he can tie his own shoes much less run a city.

seriously, are all the inhabitants of NYC really so daft that they cannot see what a hack this guy is?

He probably wears tasseled loafers.

Myriad ways. Trust me, his hypocrisy will cost him. You can only talk out of both sides of your mouth for so long before people notice, and the more you talk, the more will notice.

"A wise man speaks becuase he has something to say. A fool speaks because he has to say something"

Ol' Mikey is definitely the latter.

Well there you go. Its the fault of the high cap trains. The cars should be regulated to hold no more than 10 people. Older trains could be grandfathered in but are not transferable when the conductor dies and must be seized and destroyed.

The pusher most likely consumed more than 16oz of cola and is not responsible for their actions. The maker of the subway should be sued. Any other states with subways should have to register them with the BATFT (Bureau alcohol, tobacco & fast trains).

1 death divided by 4m people/day = .000025% (that's 4 zeros)
2 subway push deaths this year (that I know of) divided by 4m people/day*365 days = .000000068% (7 zeros)

26 deaths in CT divided by 300m Americans = .000008667% (5 zeros)
77 deaths in ALL mass shootings in 2012 (a VERY high year historically)(source:http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504083_162-57559329-504083/mass-shootings-in-2012-crimesider-reports-on-this-years-public-shootings/) divided by 300m Americans *365 days = .00000007% (7 zeros)

Now, Mayor, tell me again how guns are the problem?

I live in NYC. My gun lives 200 Miles away from me because of the laws. I can't stand him one bit. The only thing I like abut him is when there's a hurricane/snowstorm , cuz you get to hear him speak spanish on the news. And it's absolutely hilarious.

Copied from a recent posting of mine on my Facebook page:

Two horriffic subway push murders in December. This has to stop. To counter this, I propose the following: Subways limited to only five cars. Maximum speed reduced by half. 10-day waiting period before issuance of a MetroCard. During this time, prospective Metro Card customers will be given a strength test. If they can push a 180 pound dummy over the edge of a test platform, then they are obviously a potential danger, and will be licensed, registered and an interactive map of these potentially lethal people will be posted on LoHud.com.
