Blue Colt Python, 2", value?

Saw a 2" blue Colt Python today, it had been shot but was otherwise was in good shape. Asking price was $899...good deal or pass?

It's 2 1/2".

Value depends on the actual condition, but these days that would be a okay price for a Python.

The description/price tag noted 2". I'm not familiar at all with the Colt series of revolvers, other than the general consensus that the Python has one of best triggers around. I've only shot a Python once several years ago and it did have a nice trigger, a 6".

The only one's I'm seeing right now that I could bid on are between $1,800 and $3,400. And I see about 5 out of 200 with that 2.5" barrel.

It is a 2.5" barrel and that sounds like a reasonable price. Does it have the original small rounded bottom stocks, box and papers?

It had the stocks. Not sure about the box or papers though (I didn't ask).

With original service stocks that gun is worth more than $899 unless it has some major cosmetic issues.
