blue dot in 45 and 9mm

I used to use quite a bit of Blue Dot some years back for .357 mag and 9mm and it really wasn't bad at all once I got the load dialed in. And a few years ago I ran some in .40 cal. cause I didn't have any HS6 or Longshot on hand, and I actually thought it did very well.

Besides 231, what would you guys recommend for 45 and 9mm for powder?

My favorite general load powder(target loads, range stuff) is AA#2. Its a low chargeweight powder, true, but its also a very fine ball powder. It runs so well through a powder measure that its not even funny. I mean, its on the money, every drop, every time, through my cheapo lee powder measure. I truly love the stuff.

IF you wanted a little more velocity, at the cost of a little more powder you could use AA5. Its also the same kind of ball powder, meters just as well, but in calibers like 9mm and 40 it will get you a little more performance than AA2 will.

Powder pistol is another choice. I load with jacketed only in 45acp, near max or at max, and it performs very well. Anything else and I would rather use a different powder. In 9mm I have found that lead or jacketed Power Pistol is pretty darned good.
