    Hi Guys,

I've used Alliant 2400 and Blue Dot for my 125 gr JSP loads in my GP-100. I'd like to try Unique in order to make my powder last longer (uses less grains per bullet), but have a few questions about this powder.

    1. How loud is Unique compared to Blue Dot?
    2. How is the recoil compared to the Blue dot?
    3. Do you like Unique in your magnum loads?

The above questions of course, are using medium range loads.

    Thanks in advance.

Blue Dot uses about 2.5 - 3.0 grains more powder then Unique to reach similar max loads.

It is able to get around 100+ FPS more velocity.

So, recoil will be greater with Blue Dot because you are burning more of it and pushing the bullet faster.

With medium loads of the same velocity, there would only be a difference in recoil attributable to the 2.5 - 3.0 grains more powder.
It would be almost unmeasurable if the velocity was the same.

I like 2400 for max power loads, and I like Unique for medium power loads.
That is all I use in the .357 in fact.

Unique will burn much better in reduced loads then Blue Dot.

Yep. Unique is very good in midrange .357 loads. True Blue, N330, & N340 are as well, but Unique is hard to beat.

The only draw back with unique is it is very dirty.

You will erode the forcing cone of the gun a LOT faster with a diet of Magnum loads
    made with Unique.
