Anyone have any pictures? What would be the best route to take? I despise matte finishes and I want to blue or "cerakote to look blue" a matte finished Remington 700. I've heard the bluing would involve them polishing all of the matte off where the gunsmith is going to charge a considerable amount doing so.

If you "despise matte" and want a shiny blue, then the steel has to be shiny to start with.
Most of what you pay for a polished blue job is for the polish, not the time in the bluing tank.

Cerakote, etc., need to be applied over a sandblasted surface for a good bond. I don't know how much gloss you can get there.
