Some folks do things only for themselves, some like doing things for others and anyone that knows me will confirm I am in the second catagory.

This picture taken as I had just exited an interior attack to go get another air bottle. House belonged to a hard core gun lover. He had a vault full of Thompson Contenders (door not closed, they got soaked) and I arrived as the pumper arrived ahead of me. One guy pulled a line and started putting water into the garage area and I got my turnout gear on quick and took over the nozzle while he went to put on his turnout gear. I estimate 5000 rounds of center fire ammo cooked off in the garage. He was a big reloader and his propellant had lit off super-heating the garage area and the roof collapsed quickly. The owner had just got in his car leaving out of his house going to work and looked back at house in rear view mirror and saw the flames coming through his garage roof. Once we got a second attack crew in we moved down the house and made entry through front door. It was over our heads and in attic and we got it stopped saving all contents of bedrooms. The other half of the house was totaled. My Chief took this picture as I had just pulled mask off and headed to truck for another air bottle.
