I’ve always thought the trigger dingus was an additional gun drop safety.
As far as I’m concerned, if anything touches anywhere on a trigger that’s not meant to is a very bad thing (dingus or no dingus). The idea that if something catches on the outside edge of a trigger is okay as long as it doesn’t touch the dingus 1mm inboard has always seemed absurd.
Nailed it. My understanding for the 'dingus' was for a muzzle up drop, with the inertia of the trigger itself being the potential issue.
It's going to take more than a brush with clothing to fire the pistol.
Frankly, never cared for the feel of the dingi on Glock triggers, and normally sand them smooth when depressed. This makes much better trigger feel than the other dingus equipped triggers. Trigger break is around 4lbs, and some initial grittiness is smoothing out with use.
I'll be confident of it being safe to carry, though perhaps not as utterly fool-proof as the long trigger 1.0 version.
In other matters, the Alabama holster is leaving me with mixed feelings. There is something draggy with this one, that makes it tough to clear the holster. I've groused to Alabama, and we'll see what they do.
Sightwise, yes, mine shoots perhaps 1.75" left; after an aggressive session with a brass drift, a machinist's hammer and a leather jawed vise, mine is adjusted to a zero dead on at 21'. I wish the front sight were bigger, to better fit the big rear sight, and I'll fit a bigger one if found.
BTW, I actually removed the striker while the sight was out, it wasn't excessively dirty. Compressed air should be adequate for ordinary cleaning.
