Had a friend who used to use these knives exclusively. He said for the price you couldn’t beat the button opening.

Any y’all used them? What do you think?

Really wish AO knives were legal here. I have one I bought while in the army but a.) it’s technically illegal in my state and b.) mine needs replacing.
NY says it's legal to possess a switchblade while hunting, fishing, or trapping as long as you're in possession of a hunting, fishing, or trapping license. However, it's illegal to even possess it any other time, so you just always have to be on your way to hunting, fishing, or trapping.

NYS Penal Law
265.01 Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree
Class A Misdemeanor
A person is guilty of criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree when:
(1) He possesses any ... switchblade knife

265.20 Exemptions
a. Sections 265.01, ... 265.10, ... 265.15, ... shall not apply to:
6. Possession of a switchblade or gravity knife for use while hunting, trapping or fishing by a person carrying a valid license issued to him pursuant to section 11-0713 of the environmental conservation law.

While that’s correct there are plenty of places that won’t even ship them to you because New York is weird like that. I don’t know if Blade HQ is one of those places

BladeHQ shipped a few to me when I was in LE in NY, but it's been quite a while so don't recall if I had them ship to my home or office.

You could order one and see, but best to have a valid fishing or hunting license before you order.

I have both

I bought several of the Strikes in D2 and think they're the best deal on autos out there. The AUS8 versions are a great deal too.

Doesn't federal law prohibit interstate transfer of automatic knives since 1958?

Yep, but it is possibly the most unenforced law out there. Since Knife Rights (donate to them NOW) has been so successful in rolling back switchblade laws state by state and there appears to be some progress in congress on their efforts to get rid of the fed interstate commerce law impeding switchblade sales, sale of automatic knives has bloomed which has caused even more manufacturing to grow.

Online retailers in states where they know they don't have to worry about enforcement of these laws don't worry too much about this beyond not using USPS. Even those companies outside the USA have ways to get product to you as long as they're not shipping container loads.

I have personal acquaintances from decades ago who were "pioneers" in the automatic trade. They had knives from overseas seized, but considered it part of the risk and cost of doing business. One misread the changing interest in enforcement and ended up on probation at 82 years of age along with a couple of other guys for trying to bring a container into Mexico and across the border into the US.

Our talking heads have always been quick to deflect attention from evil doers they cannot control to the tools that are used for good purposes as well as bad.

Everything blade HQ has for boker in D2 is sold out except for a strike with a red blade and black handles. I don’t HATE the look but idk lol

Oh- I actually bought one converted to auto for my TN mod friend, now a semi-famous gun writer.
