Bolt Carrier group question

When you purchase a complete bolt carrier group, does that mean that the bolt is included as well, so all you would need to buy seperatly (besides the upper receiver of course) is the charging handle? Thanks in advance.

Bolt carrier group includes the bolt and the bolt carrier. If you buy a complete upper it has everything including barreled receiver, bcg and charging handle.

bolt carrier group is the bolt carrier, and the bolt. No charging handle.

Ok cool thanks guys. I bought a barrel kit and but did not read into it enough and there was no carrier group in the package. I already ordered one, but I was also wondering if I can go ahead and install the barrel to the upper receiver in the meantime or if I have to wait untill the bcg is installed. Sorry if these are obvious questions, this is my first build.

You can go ahead and install the barrel into the upper receiver. Headspace is set by the barrel extension on the end of the barrel. So the only thing the receiver does is hold the barrel and bolt carrier group.

Be sure to headspace check the bolt to the installed barrel.
I have found more than one factory barrel that was not finish reamed or incorrectly chambered and then chrome plated.
Do it for that reason alone if for no other.
