I load those for bowling pin matches. I've never laid a pin down with 230 grn wadcutter. If it hits the pin the pin clears the table. They don't scare the pins off any better than anything else though. I still have to actually hit them. That's where I occasionally have problems.

What I would like to see most of all is a dual caliber barrel set. .22 (LR or WMR) over .45/.410.

Yes, that's true. When I put my .357/.38 barrel on my BA, wadcutters are my preference. Probably sufficient, and most HP aren't going to expand anyways. The only reason my 2.5 inch 9mm barrel is on most often is in case I want to actually carry it on seldom occasion, it is smaller than the 3 inch barrel. I also have the extended grip, which not only makes it look far nicer but provides a better grip. But, the combo of a 3 inch barrel + extended grip changes the category of firearm size, versus my 3 inch barrel + flush rubber grips.
Mine is not "painful" to shoot even with the thinner of the two supplied grips on it. (It isn't what I would call pleasant, either). Oversize grips would certainly make it shoot better but one of the advantages of the stinger over the defender/Roughneck is how much thinner it is. Oversize grips would negate that.
Incidentally, I just ordered some .38 short colts
Right, the .22 Lr barrels bid for way too much. I’ve seen them bidding for up to $500. I don’t want them that bad.
i run 38 short colts in a s&w 642. i like softer recoil equaling greater accuracy. i’m not a big game guide or cop so 38 short colts are fine by me.
I don't know why it wouldn't be from an engineering standpoint. It's lower pressure than 9mm. I would expect recoil to be closer to that of the 9mm than the .380 though. I'm not sure recoil should be all that much of a consideration though for defensive carry. On the range is another matter. Even then, let's face it, shooting something on the wild side once in a while has a certain appeal. As long as I know it isn't going to actually injure me I'm good with it.
Nice how do they shoot? That’s what I bought them for: collecting, and, my 642. I want a low recoil option. I got them from Milwal Corporation for far too much. SC is almost unobtainable
These are even harder to find than Sc. Apparently, these are just a modern name for .38 Short Colt
One thing a popular youtuber pointed out, was that .38 Short Colt is more powerful than .22 LR, .25 ACP, etc out of a pocket pistol, centerfire, and larger caliber, yet low recoil. An oft overlooked option for those seeking low recoil carry options.

Yeah, those haven't been available for quite a while. I've had mine for probably 15 years or so. Don't let an incompetent webmaster turn you off to a high quality, unique product. There are some exotic aftermarket grips for sale on Ebay that are cheaper than the BA Ivory.
