Now I get my chance to put my tongue to the frozen metal pole when my just-ordered .38 Special/.357 Magnum 3-inch barrel arrives!

You might have a slightly bigger grip on that Taurus? Like about 2x bigger?I shoot 180 grain Bear Loads out of my Taurus 605 they weigh about the same....
I’d absolutely gladly take a Bond Arms over no handgun. And I’m certain that those who live in countries where it’s near impossible to own a gun would gladly take that too. Beyond that, they are fun and good for collecting. I always wanted a derringer due to the history. In January of 2021 I found myself in need of a handgun. I didn’t own any, and I had no stockpile of handgun ammunition of my own. At the time you could barely find a handgun and no one had any handgun calibers in stock. I did however have a pile of .410 defensive rounds as I use a .410 shotgun for home defense and my local gun store had a Bond Arms .45/.410 for less than $300. So in my hour of need A bond arms derringer came through for me.
Is it the kind of hand gun I would buy in a time of plenty? No. Am I unhappy with my purchase? Also no. Do I have a use for it now? Yep, although now it has been relegated to a back up gun.
I suspect the .357s would be worse than the 250 grain .45 Colts I shot out of my .45/.410 barrel.
This is what I shoott in .45 LC: $35 for 50 rounds (free shipping for vets, 1st responser, LEO) is not bad. The 180 gr cowboys are low recoil.no suspicion for me, 357mag is indeed way worse than 45lc. second to 357mag’s unpleasantness is 45acp, third unpleasant is non-handgun-specific 410. i actually find that 45lc feels strong but not painfully unpleasant. i would shoot 45lc more if i were a handloader.
As I have said in the past 45/410 & 38/357 is the best combination for Bond Arms Derringers. If a third option is desired I would go with a new Stinger.Very excited. My new barrel arrived today, a .357/.38. Nice compliment to my .410/.45 Colt. I also got a case for it from the LGS last week for less than 10 bucks (made in USA too!). So easy to change out the barrels.

Not yet. Probably won't get to the range for a couple weeks now. I definitely plan to fire some .357s and will report back.Very nice. Have you fired .357 out of it?
Yes, this barrel was made originally for the defenderThe inscription on my new barrel is interesting. Makes me wonder if this caliber barrel first came out on a Bond Arms gun called the Defender. Notice the barrel is dark because it is all polished and the frame is rough finish for the Rough Series. Farther below is the original barrel for this Rowdy frame.

Ohhh I want oneHey guys, it is here! Now Stinger comes in .38 Speical! Sweet!

I think .38 Special will be easier on the hand with the Roughneck, given how much thicker the grip is. One would fatten up the Stringer a bit by switching for Roughneck grips which are thicker.I will say though, given my 642 weighs 14.4 ounces, yet provides stout recoil even just with standard pressure, I’m assuming the RS at 16 ounces will be a little pocket rocket with hot ammo.
I'm sure it is. I've shot .38 out of my Roughneck a fair amount. 9mm out of the full sizedI think .38 Special will be easier on the hand with the Roughneck, given how much thicker the grip is. One would fatten up the Stringer a bit by switching for Roughneck grips which are thicker.

If you are going to carry, I would go Stinger for the lighter weight, but for fun the RS is $100 less. Nice thing with the .380 is you should get the greatest length of rifling between the three Stinger calibers.I'm sure it is. I've shot .38 out of my Roughneck a fair amount. 9mm out of the full sized
Roughneck is still snappy. Maybe I should get a .380 stinger or RS.
I think they'll do great with wadcutters or standard pressure.I will have a Stinger in 38 when I see one. Sure, it will be snappy but I handload so have some mild 38's I can put in it. Mostly, want it for snake shot and fun. Have wanted a derringer like that for years but most others out there were not well made and I didn't care for the larger Bond offerings (quality products, just not for me).
Are these the Altamont extended grips? If so, i have them too. Makes the BA look far nicer and gives better grip.i recently got a pair of these aftermarket monster grips. fill my hand nicely but a bit to slick for my taste so i added some grip tape. i prefer the monster grips to b.a.’s oem large grips.
