Its horrible weather out...pouring rain...and we have no customers..... so we are arguing about a few things. Who makes a better AR style rifle?? Bushmaster, Armalite, RRA, Alexander, Olympic Arms, and so on. Add any others if you must.

    Better?

Yeah, our guitarist friend is right on.

Is a Rolls Royce "better" than a VW bug?

I've gotten more mileage and actual use out of half a dozen VWs than I've ever gotten out of a Rolls.

I'm not terribly impressed with machining processes that leave burrs on the finished receiver, and hand finishing is nearly always nicer and smoother than mass produced stuff, but if the finished rifle is one I can actually buy and actually shoot, it's worth more to me than the super-spiffy, tacti-max, minute-of-gnat's-butt, two-mortgage-payments model next to it.

    Beyond that, all I ask of a weapon is bang-every-time, there-when-I-need-it, minute-of-varmint performance at a no-sleepin'-on-the-couch price.

I'll take the bug I can drive over the Rolls I never will.

    Just sayin'.

But to keep it firearms "related."

Duct tape and boiler plate, or tactical wheelbarrows?

I prefer to make my own.

But out of that list, I'd go with Bushmaster uppers for >20", RRA Midlength uppers for 16". (or CMMG for either). RRA lowers for all.
