Went yesterday and bought a Benelli SuperNova. I've been meaning to do it for a couple of years, and finally got round to it.

First thing I notice when I compare it to my beloved Wingmaster - it is UGLY. I mean, really ugly. Also, it's very stiff compared to the Remington too, but then I guess it is brand new, compared to a 30 year old, well worn in 870.

But, some interesting things, it it has a 3.5 inch chamber (that I will never use, but hey, I've got it :) ), it can be loaded into the magazine without the gun being cocked, it has a nice cutoff button so that you can rack the slide and eject the chambered round without chambering another round. Very useful if you want to change ammunition in a hurry.

It also has shims for adjusting the angle of the stock, and changing it from right to left hand - very neat.

All in all, I'm going to shoot it for a bit, and see how I get on. But I wont be putting my Wingmaster out to pasture anytime soon.

Well I like mine a lot, but I agree they are ugly. I use mine pheasant hunting quite a bit though it’s a bit on the heavy side after a long walk.

Also useful for climbing over fences.

Just picked mine up from the FFL the other day and so far I'm very happy with how it handles. Can't wait to get out to the range next week and shoot it.

Sidenote: I see it has a hole on the mag clamp on the front for, I assume, a sling loop. Since I know absolutely nothing about sling loops, what type of do I have to buy in order to mount one there?

Mine came with sling loops - if yours didnt, you can always buy a sling with QD loops on it that will fir straight onto the gun.
