Yesterday I picked up a brand new I.O. Hellcat from my FFL. I loaded up the magazine and tried to chamber a round with no luck. Would either not chamber at all or sometimes it would half way. Went out bought different ammo still same issue.
I took it apart and noticed the entire barrel was pitted. I also noticed the feed ramp was clearly not finished and cut short. I do not know how they even test fired this gun. I have left a message with I.O. and emailed them these photos. No contact with anyone due to the holidays but I will be sure to report back on the customer service. The gun has a warranty. It blows my mind how the gun went out of their doors like this. Here are my pictures and on the bottom with it should look like. Not here to make anyone look bad at this point just passing this along and again will report back on how this gets resolved.

I'm going to save you from your head exploding.

Chuck that thing in the garbage, ASAP.

My buddy bought one because it was cheap. The extractor snapped after 15 rounds. When he got it back the trigger broke. They replaced it and the firing pin broke on the new one

He never even got more than 150 rounds through them both combined.

Yea I do not blame anyone else it was sort of an impulse buy for Christmas and was about the only thing I could afford. I read the review on gunblast and that sootch00 guys review on youtube. I should have looked more into this. At any rate I need a new barrel so I can at least try to sell it.

Looks like the barrel went through salt water submersion test. They need to send you new gun or issue full refund. Late advice, but I never buy stuff made by companies I have never heard of before. Hellcat name and location of manufacturer would have been big RED flags for me.

Yes live and learn I am waiting to hear back from I.O. as well as budsgunshop although I know its not their fault I have heard they are more willing to help out customers than this manufacture is.

Yes, that was totally sarcasam. That's pretty bad rust, and I'd be pretty disappointed too. Too bad you can't just try and rub that stuff off yourself somehow without having to send it in, but if the chamber is messed up, you may have to have them do it.

There's not too much support for that case head, is there?

Yea being half the feed ramp is missing there's not much I can do. I.O. not answering phones today either though I left them another message.
Buds gave me a ticket so I guess I am waiting in line for help from them.

Worst part is if I had to I don't even think I could find a barrel online to buy.

Thats kinda what I thought lookingat the pics, its not even finish machined!

Yes, that was totally sarcasam.

Thats what I thought! :)

That is mind blowing. I'll certainly never even remotely consider buying an IO pistol if its possible for them to leave the factory like that. You'd have to have blind people assembling them with a goldfish performing QC.

I'd take that straight back to the point of purchase--that's unacceptable, and downright unsafe.

There appears to be pitting in the chamber. If this is correct, firing a cartridge will extrude the brass into the pits. It needs a new barrel before you can use it. Who knows what else might be wrong with it, though.

It is possible - but improbable - that the rusting happened between the time the gun was manufactured and got to your dealer. Perhaps the shipment was rained on while outside on a loading dock, or stored in an extremely humid warehouse or something. But I would expect the inside of the box and the rest of the gun to be damp or wet.

Update talked to customer service rep he is sending me a new barrel and if that does not fix the issue I will have to send in a new gun for a replacement. Will update when the barrel comes in.

The only experience I have with IO is their American made AK47. My experience so far has been completely positive.
