First, we know that a Czechpoint VZ is not an AK.....but that is my only externally similar rifle type; 'frame of reference' they might say.
In my imported AKs the Mobil One is applied to the rails, bolt lug channel, a thin bit on rear of piston's thickest area.
Such different components, angles, nooks and crannies (in the VZ) have me a bit confused, hence the original question.
The inside tracks and upper areas of the rails seems logical.
The only VZ-58 cleaning videos seem to emphasize teaching other Canadians how to clean a gun for corrosive primer residue (they buy such ammo very low cost).
