The Crime and Victimization Household Survey for Ireland shows a burglary rate of 3% for 2015.

In Table 1.2 it shows a burglary rate of 3%.

In Table 1.1 it shows a burglary rate of 3% for the years 2003,2006,2010 and 2015.

In the United States, the burglary rate was 3.0% for 2003.

In the United States, the burglary rate was 2.2% for 2006.

In the United States, the burglary rate was 2.3% for 2010.

In the United States, the burglary rate was 2.2% for 2015.

This is using the National Crime Victimization Survey.
 
The Burglary rate was 4.0% according to the International Victimization Survey for 2003. The Urban areas had a burglary rate of 4% and the rural areas 3% according to the Crime and Victimization Household Survey. The International Victimization Survey might have sampled urban areas. The Crime and Victimization Household Survey was 3%. Ireland is a mainly rural country.

The International Victimization Survey was conducted only for 2003.
 
Somebody is at home 48% of the time during a burglary in Ireland compared to 27% in the United States.
