BreakFree CLP on dies to prevent rust?

Am I safe to apply BreakFree CLP to my reloading dies to prevent rust? Spray a bit and wipe with clean cloth?

I'm planning to store my dies in the garage in the plastic cases that they came in.

It's certainly not going to hurt them.

CLP should work fine for storage, as long as humidity isn't really high, and you wipe them down again about once a month. But Eezox would be better.

I second Eezox. Goes on wet, carrier evaporates and leaves a dry layer that does a very good job of lubing and protecting.

I coat the inside of my dies with Microlon Gun Juice, then use the Eezox on the outside.

I use Break free for general-purpose CLP, but prefer Birchwood Casey "Sheath" for rust prevention.

I'm not familiar with Eezox or Gun Juice - I'll try them out.

Break Free makes special products for storing guns ("Collector"), and other manufacturers have things like Vapor Phase Rust Inhibitor - the stuff they treat the brown paper square that the dies were most likely originally packaged with.

If you threaded a zinc locknut onto the dies (just an idea - no idea where to actually get one) you'd have a snazzy sacrificial electrode that would protect the die from rust. The zinc would rust and the the die would remain unharmed. I'm thinking about casting some "magazines" from zinc to protect my 1911 and military rifles.
