Last November I made a post about a Browning HP mk3 I got cheap. It had several problems and was mag n ported. After several magazines it started to double and trigger went to about a pound. Stopped shooting at that time. After much thinking I decided to send it to mk3 firearms in Las Vegas. Got it back last week. O boy wat a difference. Can't seem to find the olds photos. Turned out to have a chip on the sear and a broken piece on the safety. They installed all new C&S fire control parts including there wide trigger. All new sights. Crowned the barrel and satin black seracoat. Trigger pull is now at 2.25 pounds. No issues after about 450 rounds of 147 grain ammo. Shoots to point of aim at 25 yards . Not sure if I'm going to leave these grips on or get some nice wood grips. What do you guys think about the grips? PXL_20240810_201622696.jpg PXL_20240810_201609753.jpg

They look somewhat OD to me. I like OD. It’s a taste I acquired over many years while working for my ‘uncle’. I’d leave them on there.
In person they're bright green. Not quite my thing. But they work.

Gun looks great, glad to see that it was returned in such great shape and it shoots as well as it does.

I will say the grips are…unique. They don’t put any water under my keel, but its how they make you feel-shoot is what counts.

If you are looking for other colors in G-10 material, I think the gray-black, coyote brown-black or olive-black ones all look pretty cool. (On CZ’s here)

Stay safe.

Love it just the way it is ! I have OD green Alumagrips on my Mark 2 as customized by Novak's. High power grip system to me is a weak point and G10 or Aluminum grips go a long way to fix that. Those grips appear to be Lok grips with their round divots which certainly are Great IMHO.

I think it looks great! Other than the grips! It’s a high power. It needs to be wood. That’s my opinion :) right now, it looks like someone is trying to make it look like a CZ. Again, my opinion :)

I prefer walnut grips.

Tell us about the Magnaport. Is it effective on a 9mm? Now that IDPA allows ports, there aren't many options for a bushing barrel.
To be honest, in my hands I can't tell a difference between a ported and non ported HP. Not much recoil in a HP to begin with. Maybe a top level IDPA shooter could run it faster ported, but at my skill level there about the same.

If that were a polished blued steel classic in original form, I'd change the grips.

But that gun has been fully brought into the 21st century with the fire control improvements, updated sights, and cerakoted finish. Due to that, the grips look perfectly at home on that pistola.

I'm not a fan of gaudy colors on firearms. Seems to be a thing with some folks. I won't be a hater. But I won't be a customer either.

My Mark 3 Hi-Power came with the usual plastic grips that have that swoopy crest on both sides. That crest inteferes with my grip badly. I switched mine out to the thin "Navidrex"grips Brownells used to sell. I think VZ-Grips currently sells something similar.

Look like LOK grips "thin Boogies" in "Zombie green/black"
1723488841357.png Lok grips are EXCELLENT grips of top quality G-10 and the boogies are VERY secure yet don't geab clothes when carried .and the "thin" is excellent advantage to most folks with average or smaller hands. I have come to prefer their"palm swells" on most guns I switched to Lok grips for more contact area with my skin . The green color looks good tome on a cerracoat black BHP. VZ grips are about as good as lok grips and this one is toned down green AND pam swell. : https://vzgrips.com/products/browning-hi-power-palm-swell-vz-recon.html

Thay are VZ grips. Same as the ones pictured. I'm headed to a local gun show next weekend and looking for a pair of walnut grips for it.
