Does anybody know where to find one of tese? Also has anybody tried them out? I really want to add a BHP to my collection because I think it's one of the classic military semi-auto handguns, but I'm not sure which one to get. If the Mark III is really hard to find, can anybody recommend another for me?

Not sure where to find one right now, but they are probably the most common HP you will see. You will love it and not be disappointed.
 
I really want to add a Hi Power to my collection as well. They have been pretty scarce in good condition lately.
 
BHP

I tried a BHP about forty years ago. It was screwed up from the factory.
Fast forward 40 years and I was in a pawn shop and the man had a Argentina high power clone. I brought it and I've still got it five years later, I really like it. A little later, the same man at the same pawn shop offered me a FEG high power clone at a good price. I brought it and I've still got it.
I finally broke down and brought a BHP and a month later I turned it into an M1 garand. it was inaccurate, with a horrible trigger and after seeing what a trigger job involves, forget it.
I will never buy another BHP.
OK, there is another side to that story, after the second clone, I discovered CZ's. My wife and I have most of the CZ's on the market. we love them.
CZ's are accurate, relibable, and fit your hand, and are fairly small for the cal. What more do you need in a pistol, "O" and they are a high quality piece of work.
Are there any questions??

I was lucky to find one a few days ago. I had one in 9 and another in 40 a few years ago and sold them.....after sampling many other pistols I was lucky enough to find a nib MK III again. After looking for weeks I saw two in two days. If I had it to do over again I'd have picked up both of em. Just be patient.......it's worth the wait. The hi power like a quality 1911 is a must to round out your safe.

I too, just added a commerical Browning Hi-Power to my collection. Its a '95
model as its 245NV serial number indicates, with the Tangent adjustable
target sights, and dark walnut (?) grips. It looks unfired, but only came
with one 10-round magazine and a pistol rug. But heck, for $550 OTD
I'm not complaining on bit~! ;) Its another great find, out of the huge
"Chicago Collection" that our store purchased last year.

FWIW, It will go well with my West German SIG-SAUER P228 (M11), and
my Smith & Wesson model 39-2~~! :D
 
I have a MK III Silver Chrome Hi Power. Its my most accurate centerfire handgun and it is box stock. Great trigger, 100% reliable since I bought it in 1994. BHP's are the king of 9MM's. I have CZ's also, but the BHP is just a slightly better pistol (for me).

I totally disagree with the whole "CZs are a similar feel" statements. I hear them often, and I just can't get it.
The BHP is FAR slimmer/lighter in the hand, and balances totally differently.
Comparably, the CZ has a HUGE grip, on par with Beretta 92s, ETC. In fact, my BHP fits pretty well in 1911 leather, where my old CZ-75 fit pretty well in 5906 leather. I'd call that a huge difference.
The closest I ever saw was the CZ-75B slide on a CZ-75B Compact frame. THAT gun came pretty close to the HiPower for balance, but still a far larger gun in overall feel.

one of my friends has a BHP, it's pretty close to me in terms of ergonomics. when i state similar in ergo feel, i mean that the overall shape in the hand is the same... it's much closer than say, a glock. :D

I used to be an aerobatic instructor, but am now an aviation attorney. I mainly taught in an S2B, but have times in S2A's, S2C's, S1T's and S1-11B's as well. Also Extra 300s and Edge 540s. I miss those days, although in this economy things would be very tough.
 
I have several Mk III's, and although not as collectible as the earlier pistols I think they are better for an everyday carry gun. It seems nearly impossible to find a new one in stock around here.
