Needing to buy a 9mm. Thought Browning would be good since they were built well and shot well and never had a malfunction. Would like higher mag capacity. Never fired a CZ but hear they are well built...how is their accuracy. Where would you spend your money on an all steel 9mm auto.
Beretta any good or is it all hype? Have researched but still can't decide.

It's hard to find a bad 9mm made by a major company. All have their pluses and minuses but they are all pretty good. Only you can decide what works best for you. Is their a range close to you that rents weapons? If possible, try a bunch before you decide.

I have both... Both are amazing guns that have never given me any problems. If I could only have one, I would go with the HP. With thin grips, its just perfect for my hands... That and its 15+1.

I would say shoot both. They shoot slightly differently so its going to come down to personal preference.

Good luck!
V.

Either would work. Depends on the size you want. HP and CZ 75 are similar. CZ 75 compact is smaller. CZ P01's are a good buy right now.

Is it for target or CCW?
Does it matter if it is SA only or do you also want DA?

DA, CZ, SA only, HiPower...or CZ75 SA. :)

Actually, if you like cocked and locked but like having the option of double action the CZ 75B is for you, with standard safety. It has a mag brake in it, mags drop halfway by design, so you can modify or change that out.

I also will answer yes.

The HP is single action only. The CZ has a few differing configurations.

I like the HP better but only by a hair. If I were to buy a CZ 75 though I would get a pre B model. It looks a little classier and there is no firing pin safety. Not really a big deal though but if I am going to buy something I am going to get exactly what I want.

What handguns do you currently have and what do you shoot best?

CZs are a better value of the two, but that's because they're undervalued.

The FM from Argentina is a great value in a BHP. They're certainly not as well finished as the FN or Browning pistols, but they're every bit as good (IMHO).

Personal preference, really, but I feel that the CZ took all that the Hi-Power had to offer, and then fixed the shortcomings. I'd go CZ.

13+1 is the normal magazine capacity for a HP, though there are aftermarket 15 rounders (and more).

There is no distinction in manufacturer. They're all from the same factory.

FN owns Browning today, and has manufactured Browning's designs long before that.

I think the distinction was between FM and FEG Hi Power clones as opposed to the FN/Browning Hi Power.

The FM I had shot as good as an FN my friend had. But when laid side by side, mine looked like crap compared to his.

Both great guns for my money the CZ line gets the nod. Probably underpriced compared to some other options out there and I like the having the choice of DA/SA.

IMO, the BHP design is much like the 1911, everyone should own at least one handgun in that platform.

Buy the BHP first, then go ahead and pick up the CZ down the road. :)

Since you bring it up, the FEG "clones" seem to have the mailman for a father (they're not very parts compatible with actual Hi-Powers, as the Fabrica Miltar [FM] models are).
The FEG pistols are more 'Hi-Power style' than actual clone.

I have both. The Browning Hi Power is my most accurate centerfire pistol out of many different brands and types. The CZ is a close second though. The Hi Power's standard mag is 13 rounds, plenty for me but 15 round mags are available from Mecgar who are the OEM manufacturer for Browning and possibly CZ also.

The Browning has a bit better fit and finish, not that CZ's is bad. If you want an SA only pistol get the Hi Power. If you want DA/SA get the CZ. As I have large hands with long, thin fingers the CZ's fit me perfectly.

This has been my experience as well.

Ky Larry gave you some excellent advice~! I own 9m/m's
made by Smith & Wesson (2x m-39's), West German SIG-SAUER
(P228),

Very true.

If we expand beyond the HP and CZ, there are plenty of excellent options. All of the Sig's are good guns, if not a little spendy. IMO, though, the best value in 9mm combat autos right now are the LE trade-in S&W 3rd gens. They can be had all day under $400, the 5906 being the most common. Dimensionally, they are a little smaller than a CZ-75 or BHP, but just as heavy with the all-stainless construction. You cannot hurt them. They're accurate, good triggers, 15+1 capacity. They can be had with adjustable, fixed or night sights. If your example is a little holster worn, S&W refinishes the bead blast stainless for a very reasonable price. All in all, top notch pistols that are way undervalued at present.

On the Beretta 92. Good guns, proven, very stylish. Also quite large as 9mm's go. I like mine, but would pick my 5906, pre-B 75 or FS Baby Eagle over it for any purpose.

I have both and can give you a short cut cheat sheet to help you decide which to pick. It's really easy. If you like SAO, pick the BHP. And if you like the choice of DA/SA, get the CZ.

Yes, I'm aware CZ has a SAO model. I own one. And I certainly enjoying it. But after all, it's still a DA/SA pistol that they modify into a SAO. One of thing I enjoy about SAO system is their simplicity. And that cannot be found in most DA/SA pistol (I think Sig has it right).

I hope this help.

And here are my favor full steels.

I have both and both are very fine pistols that keep shooting like the Eveready bunny. The choice is personal and I hope you have the opportunity to shoot both before deciding. My choice would be the cZ, based solely on price.
