Buck Redpoint?

Buck Redpoint? nope a Opinel

Anybody own one, found a thread few years old talking about them.
I'm thinking of getting either a redpoint or the rescue version for EDC.
Good bad or ??

Yep did Amazon, even did a Google search, but there just isn't anything quite like hearing a review from one of our more knowledgable members.

Tom, You are a nosepicker (another nose picker here, AD1), so get one and let us know. I have zero knowledge of that one but I haven't ever had a bad US made Buck knife.

Buck how true, it's to bad Buck had to move from El Cajon I'd just drive out and buy one at the factory store, problem is I think these are China made. Doesn't make them bad but!!

I too was stationed in San Diego and remember Bucks exodus from El Cajon. I bought a few bikes from El Cajon HD but sadly never made it to Bucks door. But that didn't stop me from buying decent deals at the Del Mar Gun show.

After I retired and started my second carreer one of the guys I worked with knew a lady the run the Buck store she would fix us up with some pretty good deals now and then
I just going to string for one and see how it goes. BTW I was a ADJ before the change.

ADJ? Well before me, I went joined in 85 and retired in 05. I have kicked myself many times for not making my up to El Cajon to check out Buck. Sadly many of the Bucks that I have had went the way of the Dodo bird.

So I bought a Opinel VRN6 No # 6 Knife instead of the Buck, maybe at a later date!!

My Father bought me one right before that plant closed.
Sadly I no longer have that knife. It meant a great deal to me. I won't go into the story, but I'm not happy with the CHP and Tow yard.

My Opinel showed up today, looks well made very tight (I know its new) very light weight I think I'll try it as a EDC since I'm not rough on them anymore at this age!

Yep I've started to carry it, think is so light you don't even know you have it. I'm not one to put a lot of strain on my EDC knife.

Not a RedPoint, but I do own their FlashPoint LE.

Same basic idea, same mechanism, but plain edge.

I have a redpoint. Good knife. Little small for my size large hand. My son now has it.
