i know the feeling, i'm still waiting on my background check, then i pick up my first 1911.

this is why i play the lottery.....so if i win.........i'm gonna wipe out the LGS.........

oh wait.........they're already wiped out...lol

but honestly, i will move up myself in time.

One of the 200 Colts assigned to the battleships Texas and her sister ship New York serial numbers 43801-44000 in 1914. As far as I can tell, none of them is still known to exist.

I did almost buy Remington-UMC frame number 99 once, but it had been reworked into an A1 with a Union Switch and Signal slide. Probably still shoulda bought it, argh.

Oh, well, guess my '67 Commemorative will have to suffice, lol.

For whatever reason the "boutique" 1911s have never been my bag, baby. But if they are yours, more power to ya!

I’d love an original, all matched parts, one owner, colt 1911a1. Is that too much to ask Santa for in a few months? Course if I hit the lottery it’s a given.
This.
For nostalgia.

I really like the 10mm Dan wessons, not super high end so it's not a big deal when they get scratched up some. I'm no 1911 guy, I've had a couple but rarely used them for more than range guns.
Currently own no 1911s , I'd probably get a modern blued colt in 45acp plain Jane if I was really itching for one just to avoid the price tag of an old one.

Really personal taste and which one has the options you like. I have almost done it a couple of times but never could really make my mind up enough on the "right" one for me to put the $$ down.

If possible, see some from each maker first hand to get an idea for what appeals to you. Much more valuable than pics online.

I'd like to have a bullseye competition prepared Gold Cup.

Not that I plan to compete, I just feel it is the ultimate accurate M1911.

A Les Bear 38 Super would be the next choice.

Double stack 9mm with stainless steel frame and slide and a good crisp target trigger. Reasonable accuracy, it just has to be more acurate than I am or I ever will be. Slide cut for a mini red dot with cowitness trijicon sites. Reliable! No need for a mag well funnel with a double stack. Extended beaver tail and large safety. No bling, the truth is in the target!

I don't care who manufactures it as long as it meets the above criteria.

30 years ago I couldn't afford a real 1911 so I bought a used Nocinco for $200 much to the amuzement of my buddies at the time. After a trigger job and new sites it is still my favorite 1911.

but never a super high end one.
When ever I read this, the first 1911 that comes to mind is one built by Stan Chen. His metal texturing is incomparable when compared to to the others you've named. The Browns are very pretty and the Baers are a great value in the semi-custom level, but my choice if you aren't going to go with a true custom would be a Dan Wesson

Please...please....please look at Alchemy. I have Wilsons. I have Dan Wesson. I have Colt Customs. I’ve had Les Baers. All excellent guns with zero complaints. Alchemy eclipses them all at a great price point.

You can’t go wrong with your choice, but consider putting ACW in the mix.

One of the Les Baer Boss 429 or Monolith Heavyweight 1911’s with the 1 1/2”@50 yd guarantee would be really cool.

Since they run about two house payments, I, too would need winning lottery numbers to ever have one. :(

Stay safe.
