My 07 Camper goes to the range with me on every trip. In 25K rounds, the only problems I've had are a cracked sight rail (plastic on the Camper model), a broken sight rail screw, and the tab on the slide release lever came loose needing a dab of JB Weld. The higher priced models come with metal sight rails from the factory, but may not have a rail for optics. That's one advantage of paying less for the Camper model if you are going to have to upgrade to a different rail for optics anyway. Mine now has a Tactical Solutions sight rail ($80, less without an integrated sight) and one of their 5.5-inch barrels ($105, and makes the pistol significantly lighter). I also flipped the sear spring (Heggis mod), giving it the crispest and lightest trigger I've ever experienced on any pistol.
I only remove the sight rail after every couple thousand rounds for a full cleaning. The rest of the time it cleans up quickly and easily in about five minutes. The barrel rarely needs to be cleaned, but the firing pin assembly, action and recoil assembly beneath the rail get pretty gunked up after a while. The screws that hold the sight rail need Blue Loctite to stay tight between takedowns. Normally, no re-adjustment of the sights is necessary after removing the sight rail. Shooting off hand with the stock sights, I can routinely put ten rounds on a 1-inch target dot from 7 yards.
