• Possible Downtime Alert

I am working to migrate THR from the current cluster to a new one. I would like to get this done before the weekend, but it's unclear what the timeframe will be, as testing is still ongoing. As I am writing this the new (rebuilt) host is doing a burn-in to ensure that everything will keep running under load.

When the migration happens users will see a Cloudflare message indicatating it cannot connect to the server. This is expected, and depending on how the migration goes this may last from 30 minutes to 3 hours - I won't know more until testing the various migration options is complete and I have finalized the plan.

More information is available in this thread.

As always, thanks so much for your patience.

My Browning Gti needed some new springs at the 90,000 round count. It is now over 300,000 and might need some new ones (and firing pins) again. These types of guns can be had for $800-$1200 depending on condition and will still outlast the Turkish-made CZs, let alone anything from Brazil, China, Philippines or Russia AND be better regulated with service available from any competent gunsmith.

Hey Folks, I shot sporting clays for the first time over the weekend and I'm hooked. I used a Beretta Silver Pigeon and it was a great gun but I'm looking for something in a much lower budget. I'm looking more for an o/u or a semi-auto and was wondering what a good entry level gun would be. It doesn't have to be fancy, just work like it's supposed to. The Stoeger Condor seems to be at a great price point but the reviews seem to be hit or miss. What do you experienced folks think?

Thanks

If you patient you can find something good. Not long ago LGS had Beretta 685 in excellent condition for $600. One would just have to have chokes honed to desired constriction (original full/half) and be ready to go. Didn't last long in rack.

I have an 1100 12 gauge, Special Field with a straight stock and 20" barrel that shoots and carries well, but really love my Franchi O/U 20 gauge. Neither would qualify as a great trap gun, but both excel in the field.
