I just wanted to say that I was shocked to see how low their prices are on accessories. Their prices on lasermax and viridian lasers are much lower than Midway with my FFL discount. I've purchased guns from them but never accessories. I had no idea they had such good prices. How do they do it?

I don't see their prices as being that much lower in all honesty. But, then again, I don't have an FFL like you do. Perhaps that has something to do with it?

They cheat the other guy, and pass the savings on to you.

I'm glad I live local to them. Same goes for centerfire-supply and doublestar for that matter. I've made several purchases of ammo, accessories, and firearms from them. Most likely its where my Christmas present to my self will come from this year. Nothing but good things to say about them, except if you want to call the store or the website them don't expect the phone to be answered immediately.

I'm just saying that they had the "Viridian Green Laser w/Rails For All Glocks" for $216 and the "Lasermax Unimax External Adjustable Laser" for $154. That's unheard of. I ordered 1 of each.

You need to back this up.:scrutiny:
I've done hundreds of transactions with Bud's and have had ZERO complaints from customers.

Am with dogtown tom on this one, we do a lot of transfers with Buds and they are a good company to deal with. Even when a customer had issues with a gun and one that had to be sent back for other reasons, it was very easy to work with them.

I just bought a Taurus 24/7 OSS form Buds for $344, where the LGS would sell them close to $500. It was a deal I could ignore. How they do it? I don't know. But I did notice that it took 8 working days for it to get to my local FFL when the other guns I bought from them took 2-3 days.

Who's "the other guy", and how does Bud's cheat him?

Maybe I need to start cheating that guy too. I really could enjoy their level of success.

I don't think they are cheating anyone. Bud's is primarily an online dealer. I would suspect they mostly "drop ship" most of the items they sell to online customers. You'll notice that some items have an icon that says "In Lex" next to them. That means it available to be seen in their brick and morter store. The little icon really solidifies my theory about it.

I don't have a problem with the practice but it CAN BE difficult for LGS to match the price of an item. It goes back to overhead and cost of actually having something in-stock in a real store rather than just ordering something from a supplier and having it shipped. In regards to the profit margin it IS usually less too. You make it up in volume though.

Personally, I like to support local business AND still get the most for my money. I will check online pricing compared to LGS prices. Many times they are within $20 or less. If an online price is significantly cheaper, I will give my LGS a chance to match the price. I have only had them fail to meet (or beat) the online price one time. In that one instance, they came within $9 and I bought it because I was able to take it home right away. (Would have used $9 in gas by the time I drove home, drove back to pick it up and drive home again.)

Bud's does have one of the best reputations among online gun stores. I would not have a problem doing business with them if my LGS could make be a good enough deal.

And the best part is the other guy doesn't even know it. 7 complaints in 3 years, 5 of which were resolved,
    not bad IMO.

In my experience Buds does good business and has pretty good prices. I just wish they had more selection, I see that "OUt in Stock" a lot it seems. They would have to have a couple of airport hangers to stock everything.

Jesus guys, it's humor! Get a grip. That saying's been around for years. Not accusing BGS of anything. If you want to do business with them, go for it, you have the right to do so. If I don't, that's my right too. Leave me alone.

Based on the conversations I've had with the employees on one of my trips there, I don't believe this is correct. BGS has or had several warehouses in various parts of the country that they stocked the guns. The "in Lex" was just what they happened to have on Winchester rd. They also had a 2nd store somewhere else in Kentucky and you would see "in XXX" when the guns were in that other store. From what they told me, they sold the other store and I believe very recently upgraded there store to a brand new facility and use their old building to sell surplus stuff and bulk ammo. As far as I know, they don't drop ship anything.

They have an A+ rating from the BBB. The insignifigant number of listed complaints were all taken care of as well. Hatred/Defamation of Buds is baseless and unfounded.

In Paris, KY, about a half hour drive from the Retail store on Winchester Road.

Rondog - to be fair, this is the internet. Humor doesn't always come across, ya know? Next time, just add a smiley - that way, we won't all bumrush ya. :)

Many of the items advertised on Bud's they do not have, they get a feed from one of the larger distributors inventory system, they have no cash outlay on these items so they can sell them for less. When items ship to us from "Buds" over half the time they come directly from the distributor, or to your FFL. My biggest problem with Bud's is getting the tracking information from them, they are very lax in that department so we have missed a few deliveries and had to wait until the next day for them.

Bud's does not have warehouses in other parts of the country......those are distributors. I regularly receive Bud's drop shipments direct from Sport South in Shreveport, LA.

Which is a method any other gun dealer in America could copy.

I've never received tracking information from Bud's and don't know why they would tell me anyway. My customers DO get such information.

This is a case of "you get what you pay for". We've also missed shipments from Bud's (really Sport's South, since 90% of Bud's guns come drop-shipped from them) because we didn't expect anything to come in that day. So, customers who go with the lowest price end up waiting an extra day before they can pick up the gun.

To those of you who are talking about Bud's having guns drop-shipped: are you saying that they're having guns drop-shipped from distributors straight to the retail customer? If so, I didn't think that would be legal.

I figured they used the advertised waiting time for shipping a gun as time to get it from the distributor, box it and label it, and then ship it to the retail customer.

Either way, by not carrying inventory, they're saving a bundle. I'm certain that on some low-priced guns they're making less than $20 profit.

One thing is for certain: they've forced Impact Guns to go the same route and drop their prices far below most of the other major online retailers.
