Does anyone know where to purchase the least expensive mil-surp 5.45 ammo?

I recently ordered 750 rds. from J & G. 750 rounds was the largest order they had available. Paid about .23 cents a round. From what I have read, could be ordered for about .13 a round, with the right amount of bulk order.

    Thanks,

    Gunner

You're about 15 months too late... Aim surplus is sold out, but was as low as $110 per can in 2010 and $120 per can in 2011. They were last at $135 and sold out.

SGammo has 750 rounds (silver bear) Non corrosive for $139.95 (as of this morning they have 17 sets left). Plus $15 for shipping. That is about $.21 per round. They also have Tula ammo for $4.20 for 20 rounds if you buy 50 boxes. Works out to be a little over $.22 per round. Not sure where you are but Fleet Farm has deals on the spam cans once in a while for $139.95 for 1080 rounds. (sorry didn't notice you are in Oklahoma so no Fleet Farm but SGammo is in your backyard) I have bought a couple there. When they are not on sale they are $149.95.

Funny. Was just asking about going Saiga vs AK in a thread I started and a bunch of people kept pushing the Saiga 5.45 primarily because of the "cheap ammo". "It's only 13 cents a round!" I kept reading.

Looks like 7.62 x 39 is still going to be my "go to" round.

The surplus 7N6 is hard to find at the moment because everybody's waiting on the next shipment. But for the moment here it is: http://www.southernohiogun.com/

36 packs = one 1,080 round spam can which costs $140+shipping. You're welcome.

It still is. I buy it at that price all the time. You just have to look around a bit.

I have been shooting surplus ammo long enough to remember the days when there seemed to be a limitless supply .303, 7.62x25 and 8mm on the market...and then one day it all disappeared:( I ascribe to the "buy it cheap and stack it deep" school of thought when it comes to surplus ammo.

I picked up a case of 5.45 ~every other month since 2009. I would shoot one tin and store one tin. Now I'm sitting on a nice little stockpile of 5.45 ammo. When the next shipment of 5.45 comes ashore (and prices stabilize) I'm going to keep buying:)
