Just getting my feet wet in reloading and wanted to check something with somebody with experience. My question is whether bullet shape alone i.e. flat point vs round nose has any effect on the powder load all other variables being equal? I am loading 45 acp with Nosler 230 gn fmj fp and VV N-320. VV list load data for 230 gn fmj rn only as 4.9 to 5.2 gn of N-320. Would this be different for a flat nose bullet? I checked with Nosler and their data doesn't list VV powders. I didn't think so but would like to hear it from someone else or be corrected before I make a mistake. I am planing on starting with 4.9 gn. Any other comments/suggestions from those using N-320 for 45 also welcome. I am aware of the difference in COL because of the different shape and I think I have that worked out using plunk test.
Thanks
