A good friend gave me some older Knight .50 caliber black sabots for use in my new CVA Optima V2 inline pistol. I want to buy a box of cast slugs to use in sabots. The Knights he gave me use .451 to.452 slugs. When these sabots are gone I'll have to buy more, and since I want to buy slugs now for the Knights, I hope to find out here if other .50 caliber sabots use the .451-.452 slug also. I'd hate to be stuck with the remainder of a box of slugs I cannot use in any other gun my wife and I have. Also, these sabots are labeled "High Pressure Sabots". Are there different strength sabots according to one's needs? Where can sabots be bought inexpensively? Not really sure what to look for.
Sorry for such simple questions, but my wife and I are cartridge shooters primarily (except for our three stainless Ruger Old Armys).
Thanks. Don

If you want good, accurate bullets for hunting in that gun (I have one just like it), get some Scorpion PT Golds in 240 or 260 grain and some black crushed rib sabots. They are very reasonable especially when compared to Barnes prices.

Mine shoots 1"-2.5" groups at 125 yards from a rest with the 240 gr. bullets and 40 grs. by weight (57 gr. by volume) of Blackhorn 209. I killed a deer with that bullet last year and it retained 95% of its weight.
