I heard on the radio today, I believe it was NPR news that Bush filed papers for his bid for re-election.

Any chance that this might affect the renewing of a AW ban now that he is definitely seeking re-election?

YES

We must keep the pressure of him to let AW ban sunset!!!!

Let him know if he sigh a AW ban the whitehouse is history!!!!

I still will vote for Bush but maybe we can scare him into not sighing any AW ban!!! ;)

Well, I don't think there was any real doubt, so there was no real surprise here. What would be interesting is to see a candidate step forward and say he is against the AW ban. That would put some definite pressure against Bush.

It would only be a win/win situation for the other candidate. One, Bush would lose votes. Two, if the new candidate won the election he could blame the renewal of the AW bill on the outgoing administration, thus keeping him out of hot water with both the pro gun and anti gun folks.
