I'm looking for a Butler Creek folding stock for a Winchester Defender 1200/1300. Do this stocks work pretty well? Are the made well and do they fold up as proclaimed? Any info is appreciated. Thanks
I like the Choate a bit better but I can't kick the Butler Creek on quality. They lock up good and solid. You will feel that wire stock when you shoot though. A cheap fix though not real pretty is the handle bar cross bar pad from a bmx bicycle.
I have a Butler Creek folding stock for my Ruger 10/22. Have had it for many years and it still locks up solidly like a bank vault. Well built (mine has the stainless steel construction), and never a problem with opening or closing the shoulder stock.
If you do find one... be a bit cautious the first time at the range with it... the metal stocks that came with some shotguns were notorious for leaving the shooter needing a band-aid or two for his/her face....
