hey armored farmer have you tried the federal 50gr in 22 magnum that's the only round that my henry golden boy will shoot tight groups on, as I tried 30gr and 40gr bullets but the 50gr is the only ones it likes!
Nope i have not tried the 50gr loads. I have a ton of .22mag that i need to use up before they spoil.
I will try them asap.

I voted for the cz...
Had a cz 452 scout years ago, holy Peter Faulk-ing Christmas was it a POS. Got better and more centered groups from a 1920ish rusted out savage falling block.

BUT I've shot more than a few cz 455 or 452s that belonged to friends that they could hold 2 inches at 100 yards.

But I'd personally take my Savage mk2 fv sr.

I have won some matches with a CZ American 452. My vote is CZ. I have shot against the others. A guy tried to buy my CZ on the spot last match. The others are ok. It shoot all quality ammo pretty well but likes the spendy stuff.

My American Rimfire .22 WMR shoots about the same as Armored Farmer's...I got a 1/4" group at 27 yards with Winchester 40 gr JHP, and an average of a tad over 1/2" at the same distance with CCI 40 gr FMJ.

As much as I love the 10-22 as a do-it-all semi, the CZ would be my pick for a fun target gun as well.

Stay safe!

...it’s purpose is to help with precision rifle training, try some 22lr precision matches, and have fun shooting tiny groups for cheap.

The one that best mimics the firearm used in competition should do nicely. Or if just training in general, one that is durable and easy on the wallet, so that it gets a lot of use.:)

I'm currently building another 10/22. I found my first 10/22 TD build lacking, so I started over with a standard rifle (SS/Synth).
That being said, I spotted a lightly used CZ 455 Varmint for sale at my LGS (330 bills, no scope). The CZ is sweet. I mean "feels all business" sweet. Solid, well built, trigger is amazing, very accurate, and pretty as well. It just fits. It put my 10/22 build on hold until the "new toy shine" wore off (still hasn't), but I started getting parts in again for the 10/22.
If you want to build, go 10/22 and go nuts.
If you want instant satisfaction out of the box, go CZ.

CZ or RPR.

I don't like semi-auto .22s. Easier to keep brass off the ground with turnbolts, which helps shooting around the house.
