The law is stayed before the Feb 1 2011 implementation date.

This means the face-to face requirement, which effectively would have stopped internet and mail order sales, is not going to happen.

Excellent, wonderful, fantastic, etc. I am wondering, will the State be appealing this to a higher court? It could be risky if it ends up in the SCOTUS, considering that they drafted a ruling in which "reasonable restrictions" were ok.

In a just received e-mail, J&G Sales in Prescott, AZ posted the news, and said they will resume ammunition shipments to California at once.

An ambiguous ammunition-restriction do-nothing-but-increase-costs law gets overturned. YES! :D

A State senator in CA who helped pushed this measure said a few days ago that this law would have prevented the Tuscon tragedy. We got the perp now! We have his thumbprint! YAY! Everyone should copy us! :banghead: I wonder what he has to say now?

Made my day when I got the NRAILA email yesterday. The best way to spread ammo cheer is singing loud for all to hear. Let all my friends and facebook buddies know also. Rejoice Cal-Gunners!

In the short run this is great news.

In the long run, the state will either make a specific list of handgun ammo, or they will extend the law to cover ALL ammo. It won't seem like such a great victory if that happens.

I'd like to see the law overturned on RKBA, interstate commerce, or some other permanent grounds.

With a predominantly Democrat controlled legislature, and "moonbeam", no doubt this will not be the end,...and lobbying not withstanding, our only hope is the court system.

Interstate commerce seems like it would have been easier to pull off; as that is expressly the purview of congress. "Unconstitutionally vague rulings" are rare. I wish they'd send Kevin De Leon home on the grounds of being incompetent as a legislator.
