After seeing how much the price increased at Midway and various other places last Friday I placed a order for several thousand 230gr .45 acp bullets at the old price of $62/1000. Today I had a look at Cabelas and the price had gone up to $104/1000. All I can say is...wow.

    WOW is right.
My .22 rifle is looking better all the time for going shooting.Even those are going up some, but not as much as boolits are.

btw,Laser makes a great bullet but they have always been the highest priced. That is my opininon anyway.

Back in early December, I placed a order with Cabelas for 6000 rounds at the old price.

None in stock, but they accepted my order and put it on backorder.

Since then, I've received 4 emails from Cabelas telling me that the expected "in stock" date has moved out, but they haven't come right out and cancelled me. Yet.

The last expected "in stock" date was 1/6/2008.

If I get another email moving the date out again, I will be pretty much be convinced that they are hoping I will lose patience and cancel the order on my own.

    Patience is a virtue, however....;)

That's close to a 100% increase in two weeks. I ordered 2k for $113.98 shipping included on Dec. 21. Tentative arrival to Cabelas 01/06/08...yeah, we'll see if they ever show up.

Edit: The 2 thousand I ordered were the 200gr. SWC. at the old price of $51...new price $92.

In mid-December, I ordered 1,000 of the 158-gr SWC in .38 for the old price of $48.99--back-ordered at that time till 1/6/08 (yesterday). Well, figuring that the prices would go up A LOT, I called right around New Year's and added another 1,000 rounds to the order, making the expected ship date 2/11/08. I wonder if they'll be filling all the orders first at the new prices before shipping mine out at the good price. Total, incl. tax and shipping, is just under $118.
