I just wanted to see what the consensus is on people who use their names actually being called by just their first name. I find it a little silly when people reply to a comment like this:

    "Daniel Flory-"

Just call me Dan for goodness' sake. Do other people who use their real name feel like this?

    OK, Dan! :D

Call me George. My handle was from back in the day. A guy had already taken Big George - he never posted so I kept the BigG for continuity.

Man, now I really feel bad about having called you 'Mr. Flory' a couple times. :p

In all honesty, I usually just copy and paste the users name when I address them directly. Cuts down on missspellings. ;)

What cratz2 said. Copy & paste is a wonderful thing.

Honestly, I'm more often tempted to call you ronin308.
In my mind you are "that one guy way up in LaFayette that was a pleasure doing business with". Since that's a bit long to type, I guess I can settle for Dan.
Similarly, when I see the name Chris Rhines, I automatically think "the beatnick looking anarcho-capitalist who I need to remember to buy a case of 9mm and a box of Uzi mags for once he graduates". But Chris is easier on the ol' fingers.

Okay, you can call me "Tall" if you like ... (which I ain't, really)

Unless you are mad at me, in which case you could could just call me "Pine" ( as in "hey Pine, *** are you doing now?" )

    :D

Dan- I think part of it comes from the question 'well is Daniel Flory his real name? Or is it taken from history I've forgotten or a book I should read?'

Maybe also that some people don't like it when their nick is shortened, though personally, upon reflection, 'QuarterBoreGunner' is a little long and QBG is ok with me, or even (just saw this one) ¼ bore... I kinda like that one.

Ya'll can call me Chris, but I think there are probably more than a couple Chris's around.

Lots of people stay in college as long as Chris, but we call them doctors.

Speaking of Mrs. Flory, she has a sister right?

Very nicely, thank you. I've gotten to use my Dillon a lot more because of it too.
I say beatnik ... er ... "beatnik looking" with the all due respect.
Anyway, he seems to fit the definition quite well:
*taps out a beatless series of thumps on a set of cheap drums*
    Heh.

Someone isn't going to let me shoot their Uzi, are they?

Back to the original topic (although pictures of a hot 16 year old after she's aged for a couple more years are always appreciated :D ), it leaves me scratching my head also. I get responded to as "Greg L" a lot (which is a major portion of my name so it isn't a problem) which seems quite formal as I usually end my posts like this....

My problem coming from high school and college was no one ever called my by my real name Kevin. It takes me a few times to get used to the name actualy. Ive been called Bowlcut by most my friends for about 10 or more years now. Dad occasionaly calls me bowl, bowlcut or cut depending on whos around. Most the time everyone calls me Bowl.....

Then the whole issue from college of everyone calling each other by either their screenname or their character's name from the MUD we played
