Anyone remeber the CAM-III knife kits that used to be available and have any info in them? I"ve heard they were made by Camillus, but have never found any other information about them.

I just ran acrossed your post in the archives and thought if you're still around I could add a bit of info about CAM knives. The knives were designed by.... I think this is right??.... Charles A Mason(?) of Vacaville Ca. Ergo, his initials C.A.M. The CAM III knives were built by a company in Japan and private labled for CAM. They were generally made of a high grade construction and the stainless blades Rockwelled out around 56-57 on the hardness scale. I rep'd they line for a brief time, but didn't follow the history of the company after I dropped it due to business conflicts.

CAM III: initials of Charles Arthur Mahon III. He owns Vacaville Surplus & Armory and also organizes Gun Shows through out northern Calif. phone: 707 448 1892

Chuck designed the knives and had them built in Japan. Chuck lived in Japan for a time with USAF. United Cutlery was one of several knife makers he dealt with. At one time JC Penney carried his line of CAM III knives. I've known Chuck for years. Chuck is a retired Chief Master Sergeant and Korean War Veteran. He is an outstanding American.

I have a large non-folder CAM III knife that I'll sell for a fair price. Excellent big game hunting knife. Extra sheath, too.
