I decided I wanted to turn my black 870 into a camo gun for the upcoming bird seasons. I ordered a wrap from Mossberg for $30. I left a spot on each side of the barrel uncovered since those are higher friction points and was catching on the wrap already after a couple pumps. Took me about 3 hours to do and it’s not perfect but it should be good enough to hide from some birds. If anyone was thinking of doing the same thing and had questions let me know.
That looks good, unless you’re a bird. My experience with camo wraps was my grandfather’s old crow gun. An old Remington 31 he bought cheaply in the 60s and by the 90s had the blues barrel wrapped in camo duct tape. It worked well enough and I kept it that way for 10 years after he passed and it cleaned right up. Not really a purpose to this story but that’s what I think of with camo wrap. The $30 solution looks better but the $3 option exists too.
